Kirstin Piggott, celebrity make up artist and Rimmel spokesperson, shares the tips and tricks from one of her latest celebrity shoots
I recently worked on a really great advertising shoot for the charity, Oxfam. It was all about the vintage gems you can find tucked away on their rails! The stylists created three fantastic period looks, with hair and make up from the 1940’s, 1950’s and 1960’s. My favourite part was recreating the iconic 1960’s Twiggy look, which is all about the eyes! I started with a base and Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation; it glides on the skin beautifully, making it super easy to apply, and gives a flawless finish. I followed with the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer and Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder under the eye area, which really helps to disguise unwanted shadows. I then began to focus on the eyes and applied Rimmel London Glam’eyes Eye Shadow in Precious Rose, which is a pretty pale pink, over the entire eye area. Using Rimmel london Soft Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in Black, I then defined the upper lash line with one continuous line, extending it beyond the outer corner of the eye with a little upward flick at the end. Still using the eyeliner, I defined the socket line by working the liner in towards the inner corner, making sure the line stayed clean and sharp. To finish off the eyes I curled the lashes and generously applied lashings of Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Mascara in Black to the top and bottom lashes, making sure I really built up the mascara and kept the lashes separated. This mascara creates amazing length instantly and helps to strengthen lashes over time thanks to its unique Growlash complex. To complete this look I wanted to keep the lips low key to keep the focus on the eyes, so applied Rimmel London Colour Show Off in Shake Me Up Pink. www.rimmellondon.com
